Baby Moorhen and Mother

Some intimate pictures of a moorhen and her little baby chick. The mother is walking through the undergrowth with one of her younglings in tow. The chick is hungry and trying to get the attention of her mother by calling out to her. The mother looks around and their eyes meet, the chick looking up, mother moorhen looking down at her child – their gaze meets and stays connected for a time. Mother moorhen looks away but the chick is persistent, regularly squeaking out its demands for food and sustenance.
