Golden Fly
A shiny golden fly. This is a real insect I spotted sitting on a leaf. I do not know what species of fly it is though i suspect it is some type of hoverfly. One can make a positive identification by looking at the distinctive vein pattern on the wings. Unfortunately, the only pictures available to me show the wings folded over and the veins obscured.
I have not touched the image in any way although the flash from my camera has enhanced the metallic properties of the fly’s abdomen somewhat.
