There are a wide variety of species including large brightly coloured ones, such as hawk moths, and small inconspicuous types, such as the clothes moth. They are similar to butterflies in many ways but have distinct differences – physically there is an absence of the clubbed antennae found on butterflies and their bodies are bigger.
